This is a picture of me with a giant snail, Powelliphanta Superba Prouseorum!
If this was a real photo of me holding a giant snail it would take up my whole hand. They can grow to weigh as much as a tui and live for TWENTY years.
They eat other invertebrates even other snails so maybe they are basically cannibals. But it means they can then make their own shells and eggs even better.
They look quite pretty. I would love 💕 to see a real one!!
