  • Features
  • Specifications
  • Instructions
  • Easy-Grip Zip-Pulls Our Easy-Grip Zip-Pulls have a handy finger loop. The rubber and cord zip pulls make less noise as the pulls don’t rattle in the wind.
  • 5000mm aqua rated The waterproofness of polyester is rated in mm which refers to water column height in millimetres. This fabric will withstand a 5000mm column of water for more than one minute before a single drop might appear through the fabric. The thicker the coating the longer the aqua rating lasts so Kiwi Camping double-coat our polyester, meaning our aqua rating is the minimum waterproofness, rather than the maximum.
  • Alloy Tri-tensioners Our tough Alloy Tri-Tensioners are lightweight and super strong. Designed to be easy to use, they grip the guy ropes, making your tent more secure in New Zealand’s sometimes windy conditions.
  • Darkened Breathable Inner Our darkened inners are made from high-quality breathable polyester. A darker tent during the day means a longer and cooler sleep-in. At night, the breathable fabric reduces condensation build-up for a more comfortable nights sleep.
  • 75 denier fabric Strong, durable 75D polyester with a polyurethane (PU) waterproof coating. This fabric has superior tensile strength and is 8 times more durable than nylon. Our 75D fabric won’t stretch or sag when wet like other materials do and is a heavier quality than comparable fabrics.
  • Seam sealed The seams of your dome tent or shelter are the most vulnerable for water leakage. We use a custom-developed method of heat-sealing tape over the seams to maintain waterproofing, resulting in maximum protection against the elements at all points.
  • Double stitched seams Lap felled seam construction (doubling seams around on each other) with double stitching ensures maximum strength around the seams of your tent.
  • UV protection For added safety and comfort the fabric has UPF 50+UV protection.
  • Fire retardant The fabric has also been treated with a fire retardant solution. Even with this protection, ensure you take particular care around heat and flames. Avoid using open flame, heating or cooking appliances in or around your tent.
  • Fibreglass poles Our StructureFlex fibreglass poles are the largest diameter possible, relative to the size of the tent. This ensures you get maximum strength at minimum weight. They are also coloured to match the coloured pole sleeves.
  • Extra wall and peak height This tent has a very high peak and wall height giving more head room and more internal air volume ensuring a cooler tent over the hot summer.
  • Sunroom floor Minimises dampness from the ground. Loose fitting so can be removed if not needed.
  • Airflow system In NZ the temperature variance from day to night can be extreme. With this in mind we include vents that are positioned to provide the greatest air flow through the tent during the day. At night they can be closed to contain valuable warmth.
  • Power mesh pole sleeves Power mesh pole sleeves make it easier to feed the poles through. If you were to cause a rip in the material it will not tear like a polyester pole sleeve, meaning you can continue to use your tent!
  • Pin and ring pole attachment Quick and easy pole assembly and dismantling system.
  • Guy rope attachment This guy rope attachment spreads the tension evenly and pulls from the frame giving more support.
  • Quality zips, ropes and poles All our tents use heavy-duty coil zips, guy ropes and poles so you can be assured your tent will last for many years of exciting family camping holidays.
  • Speed-Clips Fast and efficient for erecting the tent. Flexibility allows for movement in windy conditions.
  • No-see-um mesh Even small bugs can't get through our no-see-um-mesh. Enjoy insect free living with ample air circulation.
  • Accessory pockets Accessory pockets provide handy storage for smaller items and valuables.
  • Door storage pockets Clean and neat storage for the doors when they are fully zipped open.
  • Lantern hanging points Conveniently located tabs to hang LED lanterns.
  • Power cord entry Power cord entry makes it easy to plug in appliances or charge your phone when on a powered tent site.
  • Size: 500 x 300 (cm)
  • Vestibule: 200 x 280 (cm)
  • Floor Area: 7.8m²
  • Packed Size: 70 W x 21 H x 21 D (cm)

  • Great tent for small family Hayley

We are a family of four and it is great! Easy to put up!
Thanks for the feedback Hayley! We hope you enjoy more family adventures with your Kea :)
  • Upgraded to Kea 5e Jared

We went to last years NYE festival in a small Kiwi Camping tent. We cooked. This NYE we went with a Kea5e and it was simply the best decision. Standing room, vestibule to leave stuff (and dirt/grass) and blessedly cool even in the middle of the day. Only thing to add now would be some poles and guy ropes for the front/rear door! Which poles could we use for this?
Thank-you for your review and feedback Jared we appreciate it!
