Easter is a great time to go camping as the hustle and bustle of the Christmas crowds have faded away and after 3 months being back at work it is almost certainly time for a break.

The Great Kiwi Camping Photo Competition
After many requests, we have decided to extend the Great Kiwi Camping Competition until April 17 2009, so you can email us your Easter camping pictures. We have already had some excellent entries and we know you have some great summer holiday pics to share so go ahead and send them through ASAP! Don't forget to let your friends know about the Kiwi Club, so they too can reap the benefits of being a member and send their summer photos in also.

The winning photos will feature in the 2009/10 Kiwi Camping Catalogue plus one overall winner will score $350 worth of Kiwi Camping gear of their choice!

Te Koingo, the Kiwi Camping sponsored kiwi is doing incredibly well and is exceeding everyone’s expectations! Last week Te Koingo had her monitoring transmitter changed from a ‘baby’ transmitter to an ‘adult’ transmitter and she’s just four and a half months old. The transmitter needed to be changed because she now weighs over 1 kilogram. It is usually expected that kiwi will reach the 1 kilogram mark at around 6/7 months old so this is an excellent result for Te Koingo and the Maungatautari Ecological Island Trust.

Kidzone
Because Te Koingo is doing so well we have decided to extend the Kidzone competition until 13 March 2009 and keep her in the limelight. We have had some great entries so far and we get the feeling Te Koingo knows she is a star. To enter the competition all you need to do is draw Te Koingo doing her favourite activity…camping! Get creative and include all the things Te Koingo will need on her camping trip and don’t forget to include some of her friends from the bush.
