Kiwi Camping Co. Ltd. was brought to life by Allan Murray on 6th August 1987, born in the basement of his home where he manufactured five models of tents and a small number of backpacks. Allan envisioned a company that would create products to serve the unique camping needs of kiwi families and reflect the enchanting nature of the kiwi camping experience. A team of two were to undertake the process of making this vision become a reality.
In 1999, Tim Stace joined the company as Allan's business partner. This marked the growth and development of the Kiwi Camping range and our company's commitment to the changing camping needs of Kiwi families. The customer service department and sales team were also extended in order to deliver the quality and attention to detail expected of all Kiwi Camping products.
Today, Kiwi Camping products are distributed nationwide to nearly 50 authorised Kiwi Camping Centres and many more stockists. Kiwi Camping Co. currently operates out of a 3626 square metre premises in Hamilton and we are proud to be the only premium tent manufacturers in New Zealand.
In 2007, we celebrated our twentieth year in operation so we place much importance on understanding what we have learnt in the years gone so we can utilise this in the present, to effectively improve the future of our products and, more importantly, improve your camping experiences.
We are a proud company with a solid foundation built on experience and we are extremely happy to say we are 100% owned and operated by New Zealanders.
